Light Caddis Variant My all-time favorite, most productive fly. Does exceptionally well for early season limnephiledae, the doubles for little yellow stones. Dances on the water and invites strikes. A good searcher pattern any time. Equally effective on flat or rough water. |

Tan Caddis Variant Possibly the most versatile caddis-matching member of the Caddis Variant family. This fly works just about anywhere, any part of the season. I cleaned up with a #14 Tan CV one evening last season on the Madison. |

Grannom Caddis Variant This one does exceptionally well when the green-bodied caddisflies are on the water late in the day. Clip the bottom hackles at the water line and you have a spent caddis. |

Chuck’s Peacock Trude This is the first fly in my Trude series. Hollow hair underbody, full hackle collar that matches the light pattern thrown by peacock for more lifelike appearance, sparse, flared wing that doesn’t obscure the body. A great daylight searcher, especially when terrestrials are around. |

Hookup Green Drake This fly rides with the hook up, and presents a believable silhouette to hard-fished, picky trout in flat water. Can be moved along the surface with the same disturbance as a natural – often the best way to trigger strikes. |

Hookup Damsel Similar design to above. Simple in appearance, gets the job done where fancier patterns foul, twist the leader, or simply fail to catch fish. Fly can be moved along surface. A Georgetown Lake favorite. |

Yellow Trude This little fly performs well when Little Yellow Stones are on the water, or as an attractor pattern. Hint: Trim the hackles, top and bottom, and thin the wing out to about half for evening sessions when egg-laying stones are on the water. |

Amber Trude This fly has caused quite a stir locally. Good as a searcher, or when any number of small, tannish bugs are on the water. The spectrum of colors in this fly is an application of Gary LaFontaine’s theory of attraction. |

Brindle ‘Chute A multicolored mix of dubbing and hackle that mimics light patterns trout see on the water. Use for many similar-colored hatches. Or, fish it as a searching pattern – it produces when nothing else works. |
